The Tour de l’Île de Montréal offers you a unique urban Sunday: a pleasant and safe bike ride on car-free streets, a discovery of the city’s neighborhoods at a different pace, amazing viewpoints and the possibility to live this sweet moment with your loved ones. Discover or rediscover Montreal differently!

Choose the route that suits you best

Here are your two options :

  • the regular course, ideal for families with children or city bikers, this course offers a choice of routes ranging from 25 to 50 km, on car-free streets, through some of Montreal’s most beautiful spots;
  • the Discovery course, ideal for road bike enthusiasts, with longer routes ranging from 75 to 100 km. Enjoy the regular Tour de l’Île de Montréal route with thousands of other cyclists on streets closed to traffic, and extend the pleasure on marked streets open to traffic, allowing you to increase the distance of your urban bike ride.

Ready for the biggest cycling event of the summer?

The Tour de l’Île de Montréal is THE big cycling event of the year in the city. For one day, discover the city in a different way, thanks to a route reserved for bicycles, activities designed especially for the pleasure of cyclists, and a start/finish area where entertainment, relaxation and great gatherings are in order!

Register for multiple events and save! When you register, combine two Festival events and receive a 15% discount on the price of each event. By participating in the Go Bike Montreal Festival events (Metropolitan Challenge, Tour la Nuit, Tour de l’Île de Montréal), you agree that Vélo Québec, the Festival’s partners and the media present at these events may capture images of you that can be used to promote and broadcast the Festival in all its forms (photos, videos, multiplatform media, etc.)

Schedules, services offered, bib reception… prepare yourself in an ideal way by checking the following information!

A big party in motion

The course will be completely closed to traffic for the duration of the event, so that you can complete your loop at the same point where you started.

Fun on the road


Before the event, you’ll receive an invitation by mail, along with your race number, to take part in the Tour.

A problem on the road? Bike mechanics and first-aid volunteers are on hand to help. Can’t complete the Tour? Support vehicles will take you to the finish site. Got questions? Visit the INFO booth at the finish.

Regular course

The regular Tour de l’Île de Montréal route lets you explore Montreal on car-free streets, where cyclists own the streets for a day. We’re currently working on the routes for the 2024 edition. Stay tuned, more details coming soon!
