 Start/finish: Vaudreuil-Dorion

To kick off the Go Bike Montréal Festival and the bike touring season, this year’s  Metropolitan Challenge visits the southwestern tip of the metropolitan area, flanked by Ontario, the Ottawa River and the St. Lawrence River. From École secondaire de la Cité-des-Jeunes in Vaudreuil-Dorion, your lovely, waterside route takes you through Pointe-des-Cascades, Les Cèdres and Coteau-du-Lac.

Registration fees include

  • Participant’s booklet and bracelet providing access to services (mail-out)
  • Final update of maps and GPX data via email
  • Route signage, on-road professional support (mechanical and first aid) and relief vehicles
  • At the lunchtime rest area: box lunch, water, toilets, first aid services, mechanical assistance
  • Souvenir gift
  • At the finish site: partners’ activities, bistro and musical entertainment

Schedule

Itineraries: 50, 75, 100, 125 or 150 km
Departure: Start between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and bike at your own pace
Lunch: rest area or finish site?
You can make this choice when you register, up to 5 days before the Challenge. After this deadline, your lunch will be provided at the rest area that accommodates cyclists from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

On the 50-km route, the box lunch will distributed only at the finish site.

Laurentians Challenge  • Saturday, June 23

  Start/finish: Morin-Heights

This year’s second Summer Challenge begins at the Sommet Morin Heights ski center. From there, the winding, mainly wooded route – with its challenges and charms – takes you past several lakes along quiet, less travelled country roads, through Saint-Sauveur, Sainte-Anne-des-Lacs, Gore, Saint-Colomban and Lachute – the southernmost tip.

Eastern Townships Challenge • Saturday, September 8

  Start/finish: Bromont, montagne d’expériences

This year’s late-season classic leaves from Bromont, montagne d’expériences, offering a beautiful panorama of the surrounding farmland. You will pedal through several vineyards, and then after lunch, follow the Yamaska River with the neighbouring mountains in full view. Featuring a gentler-than-usual slope, the route will take you through Cowansville, East Farnham, Farnham, Bedford and Dunham.
